IHRSA Brazil

Matrix had a large and notable presence at IHRSA Brazil, the health and wellness industry’s premier Latin American event. IHRSA Brazil drew over 10,000 attendees this year, a growth of 25% over previous year. The Matrix booth was full of existing and potential customers every day, who were interested in the featured ClimbMill™ and Ascent Trainer™ ellipticals. The new products received a lot of attention, and Krank Fusion™ classes featuring the Johnny G Krankcycle® and LIVESTRONG® by Matrix indoor cycles added energy to the booth.

Overall, the JHT-Brazil team found IHRSA to be a very successful show. Plans are already in motion for an even bigger Matrix presence at next year’s event!

Krank Fusion: When Water Meets the Road

Combining the Johnny G Krankcycle® by Matrix with a stationary bike for Krank Fusion™ is the ultimate full-body, calorie-incinerating workout. Part of the appeal is that all participants, whether pedaling with their arms or legs are riding the same road by climbing the same hills and riding the same flats.

The group exercise and fitness team at Choice Health & Fitness in Grand Forks, North Dakota has added their own twist to this popular group-training format by combining Kranking® with indoor rowing for an incredibly powerful and engaging workout!

Contrary to a widely held misconception, when executed properly, the rowing stroke uses all of the body’s major muscle groups, but 80-85% of the power phase of the stroke comes from the legs.

This combination results in not only a fantastic workout, but provides an opportunity for participants to completely connect to their training on a very deep level, as the common goal becomes perfecting performance on the Krankcycle while developing the technique necessary for an effective rowing experience.

Virtual Active Destination – Crater Lake, OR

Where would you like to go today? With Virtual Active™ by Matrix, users have the chance to escape to exotic locales, including Crater Lake, our feature destination for this month.

This journey takes you through beautiful Oregon in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Crystal blue Crater Lake is one of the highlights of this trip. Crater Lake is a caldera lake, a result of a crater left behind 7,700 years ago when volcanic Mount Mazama collapsed. The deepest lake in the United States, Crater Lake reaches depths of 1,949 feet. Scientists estimate that it took 720 years for the lake to fill up to its current depth after the initial volcanic collapse. Thermal activity in the caldera suggests that further eruptions in the crater are possible. Because it lacks inlets and tributaries, the waters of Crater Lake are extremely clean. Crater Lake is home to 'the Old Man of the Lake,' a 30 foot tree that has been bobbing vertically in the lake since the 1800’s. The Klamath tribe of Native Americans may have witnessed the collapse of the volcano and formation of the lake, believing it was the result of a divine battle. The Klamath tribe still holds Crater Lake in high regard as a spiritual site.

Virtual Active by Matrix is fully-interactive video programming compatible with all existing 7xe, 7x, and 3xe cardio products and Myride®.
